| Tiivistelmä: | Companies have long shied away from debt as a means of reaching corporate objectives. But attitudes are shifting, partly because of the way it encourages management and shareholders to act in the same directions. One of the worries about is its inflexibility. But rather than confining companies, it lends to act as an impetus to revitalise stagnating businesses, spurring them on to novel strategies and improved performance. Predictable earnings and market power often go together, and provide the ideal combination for debt. Institutions will be happy to lend, and the debt will be of maximum benefit to the business. |
