But this competition is not fair concerning the retailers, as long as the present interchange fee system persists. The MMC report only made two firm recommendations: 1) Changes in the rules to make it easier for banks to acquire transactions from retailers. 2) Retailers should be free to charge their customers a different price in case of payment with a credit card. |
