| Tiivistelmä: | Argentina and Chile followed in the seventies an explicit strategy of real devaluation. The success of this strategy depended on several factors among them inflationary processes, the deficit of the state budget, reserve position etc. All of them are analysed in detail as are actual real exchange development and the cost of the whole strategy: real growth abatement. |
