Tiivistelmä:This paper provides an overview of a model of equality driven employee involvement, which has been developed through research with 14 organizations across 8 European countries. The impetus for the development of this model grew largely from problems which were identified in the implementation of positive action programmes. The paper argues that, as long as responsibility for equality is viewed as the sole responsibility of specialist staff within the personnel function, organizations are unlikely to understand the impact that equality issues may have on business performance.
