| Tiivistelmä: | The first access to the labour market can have a significant effect on young people's employment career over the entire life course. This study investigates sequences of labour market statuses in 10 European countries. It uses explorative methods of optimal matching (OM) and cluster analysis. It observed the five years that follow school leaving by examining monthly labour market statuses. The results show that the highest volatility is in countries with well-established training systems and the highest integrative potential is in countries with mainly general education. |
