Tiivistelmä:Human resource (HR) professionals were asked by Rynes, Colbert and Brown (2002) to what extent they agreed with various HR research findings (henceforth as: res-fnds). Based on replies of nearly 960 American participants, it was shown that there are large discrepancies (herein as: discrps.) btw. res-fnds. and practitioners' beliefs (as: pr-blfs.) about effective HR practices.
This research is a replication of the Rynes (et al.) study, performed among over 620 Dutch HR professionals. There are shown remarkable similarities with the American study: there are large discrps. btw. res-fnds. and pr-blfs. in some content areas, particularly in selection and recruitment. Dutch practitioners are to some extent more likely to agree with res-fnds. with higher education level, with more frequently reading of HRM professional journals and with a positive attitude towards the usefulness and applicability of academic research.
