| Tiivistelmä: | The eighties brought dramatic changes to management of the prison service of England and Wales. This paper reports some of the managerial changes, placing them in a perspective and emphasizing the success factors. Each component represents a large amount of deliberation and refinement by staff. Similarly, the components of change are far less orderly than seems to be the case. |
