| Tiivistelmä: | This is the third review of Japan's trade policies conducted as part of the Trade Policy Review Mechanism (TPRM) that was initiated in 1989 by the GATT. In this paper, Section 2 addresses some of the main features of Japan's recent domestic and external economic performance. In Section 3, the focus is on Japan's trade policies and practices, which constitute the bulk of Volume 1 of the TPRM Report. Section 4 summarizes the current sources of concern about Japan's trade policies and the concluding remarks are contained in Section 5. |
