| Tiivistelmä: | It is no exaggeration to say that the European Union (EU) is one of the most enthusiastic users in the world of free-trade areas and customs unions. In 1993, The Copenhagen European Council requested that the European Commission study the impact of changes of rules of origin on trade btw. the European Community, the EFTA countries and Central Europe. There is provided an overview of the system of origin rules in the harmonized protocols. It is argued that generally, the Protocols offer opportunities for economic operators interested in trade across the European continent. |
