| Tiivistelmä: | After the period of severe economic hardship that accompanied the newly regained independence, the economy embarked on the course of improvement, in particular from 1996. Significant growth has been revealed lately. Still, the economic crisis in Russia in the second half of 1998 had negative consequences on the economic situation in Lithuania. In the note the changes as mirrored in public opinion have been presented. |
