Tiivistelmä:The dynamics of conflict management as a team phenomenon are explored here. The main focus is on the relation of the input variable of task structure (task interdependence) to team conflict management style (co-operative versus competitive) and team performance, and on how team identity moderates these relationships. Study participants came from 77 intact work teams in high-technology companies. The findings indicated that at high levels of team identity, task interdependence was positively associated with the co-operative style of conflict management, which in turn fostered team performance.
