| Tiivistelmä: | Some dangers implied by today's new product developments, technology and materials decisions are described and analyzed. It is shown that there are preferred, socially and politically upheld problem areas such as recycling, waste materials combustion, protection against hazardous materials etc... Arguments are presented that there is a lack of a unified methodology which could organize the technical, economic, and environmental requirements into a well-balanced system. Some preliminary studies to fill this gap and their results are reported. The need of an interactive data bank is emphasized. A case example is provided. |
