Tiivistelmä:Papers that challenge existing ways of thinking are critical to the advance of organization science. Here the assumption that "richer is better" in the case of communication media is challenged. Professor Markus demonstrates that even lean media (such as text-based electronic mail) can be used for complex communication; richer media (such as face-to-face meetings) are not necessarily preferable or more effective than leaner electronic media.
