| Tiivistelmä: | This study investigates the impact of gender on the income level and public support of artists in Finland using empirical data based on a research project of the Arts Council of Finland. The average income of women artists is lower than their male colleagues, but there was no significant evidence of a gender bias in the distribution of public support for artists. The economic situation of artists varies more depending on art form than gender. |
