| Tiivistelmä: | Among the activities linked to the production and transformation of information, complex services today represent the major growth area for corporate services. A hypothesis is developed and proved that certain professional electronic information services - data bases - are gradually becoming integrated within the sphere of these complex services. Notably the key stages in this evolution are analyzed which, ever since the emergence of multidisciplinary information needs, have been characterized by the increasing complexity of requirements in this field. The evolution from the information-knowledge stage to that of information services is shown. |
