Tiivistelmä:It is argued that in MBA master of business administration courses students should not be educated as would-be professionals. Management education programs need to initiate students in the knowledge, skills, and values attending to the profession before they can practice. The point is that management has never been and, should not be a profession. Professionalism is bad for management. There is little standardization of managerial skills within organizations, let alone industries. Management relies on rather broad, diffuse knowledge that requires extensive logical interpretations. The educational system should not be adapted to conform to a misguided professional model.
