| Tiivistelmä: | The duration of university education was reduced from five years to four years in Netherlands in 1982. This article used this institutional reform to estimate the causal effect of one year of education on wages. The results show that the fifth year of university education increased wages by 7%-9%. It was found by comparing wages of cohorts of graduates enrolling five years before and five years after the reform in an difference-in-difference approach. |
