| Tiivistelmä: | This study proposes a contingency approach grounded in management control theory suggesting the criteria used by managers in choosing alliance partners (here as: all-prts.) will vary by alliance project type. Specifically, a framework addressing why and when managers select partners with certain, specific characteristics is introduced. The results strongly support hypotheses that the critical criteria for assessing all-prts. attractiveness and selection vary depending on the differential levels of process manageability and outcome interpretability inherent in a strategic alliance. |
