| Tiivistelmä: | This article points out that a transactional explanation of stakeholder relationships does not sufficiently provide managerial direction for resolving various normative stakeholder claims that resist commoditization and in response to this, there are two overlapping goals in the study. First, the paper seeks to elaborate a discourse theoretical approach to the problem by drawing out Jurgen Habermas' theory of communicative action and delineating the various types of rational discourse. Second, it attempts to suggest concrete implications for Stakeholder Management Capability (SMC) relative to reshaping the contours of rational, process, and transactional analysis in light of central discourse theoretical conclusions. |
