| Tiivistelmä: | This study presents an extension of empirical work to focus more clearly on the relationship btw. banks' governance attributes and the success of bank mergers. Emerging evidence is summarized from U.S. research pointing to a role for sound governance mechanisms such as managerial pay incentives and board composition, possibly helping to prevent bank executives from pursuing value-destroying acquisitions. |
