| Tiivistelmä: | In the first part of this paper expectations and outcomes are considered. Then the authors discuss macroeconomic policy - monetary policy, fiscal policy, seigniorage and the inflation tax in the transition economies and reforming Yugoslavia's economy. The second part considers output and demand - the pattern of output and demand in 2000-early 2001, output and demand in Eastern Europe and the Baltic states, commonwealth of Independent States and investment. Then the authors discuss consumer prices in 2000, producer prices and labor costs in industry in 2000, structure and change in manufacturing industry wages during transition, labor markets, changes in employment in 2000, unemployment and foreign trade. |
