Tiivistelmä:In this article the author assesses the variations in the way in which organizations design, implement and operate individual performance related pay systems. Drawing upon the findings from two case studies, he highlights the importance of historical and other contextual factors in explaining these variations. A comparative case study methodology is cricial in addressing the questions posed and in supporting the argument advanced. It is suggested that approaches towards PRP are dependent on particular organizational circumstances and needs.
