Tiivistelmä:This article deals with the attitudes (hereafter as: atts.) and experiences (here as: exps.) of female full- and part-time (here as: f-and-p-t.) workers towards trade unions (here as: tr-us). It is suggested that while the atts. of f-and-p-t. workers towards tr-us. are similar, exps. of tr-us. are not: they depend on the employment context and work history. A life course perspective is advanced, which examines women's employment contexts and transitions between f-and-p-t. work to further explain female part-timers' lower likelihood of unionizing.
