| Tiivistelmä: | The European Union (EU) aspires to be the most competitive, full employment economy in the world. A number of ambitious targets have been set to be met by 2010 as to achieve the goal. This article explores some of the tensions btw. goals as these are manifest in labour market indicators. It is found that the likelihood of meeting the deadline seems remote. |
