Tiivistelmä:Research note is based on the results of a survey undertaken in 1985 into the industrial relation practices and policies of large multi-plant firms in Britain. The survey of 143 enterprises indicates that foreign-owned firms are likely to devote more resources to, and be more advanced in, modern human resource management techniques, while being similar in the extent to which unions are recognized for collective bargaining. The sample was drawn from four manufacturing sectors and two from services.
