| Tiivistelmä: | A quantitative model is presented for studying the product redesign effects on the value, cost, and quality control processes in a single product environment. The dynamic programming formulation allows management to experiment with different sets of learning and cost data. It also allows experimenting with non-uniform redesign effects on the learning curves associated with the value, cost, and quality control processes. In any case the model provides the optimal redesign policy, that is the optimal redesign level and the optimal timing for implementing the redesign. |
