| Tiivistelmä: | The paper examines the public finance developments in the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development countries. The paper provides the projections for public expenditures and levels of old-age spending in 2000. The article also pays attention to patterns of old-age spending in 2050 and the impact of deficits on debt. The paper also considers the reformation of existing policies for age-related spending. The paper provides 10 charts and 6 graphs. The article states that new projections provide information on the fiscal impact of ageing to 2050 for OECD countries. Country projections are based on different models, but broad cross-country consistency has been achieved. |
