Tiivistelmä:The paper considers the development of Russian Federation. The author states that economic growth appears to have strengthened again in Russia. Revised numbers by the State Statistical Committee show Russia GDP and industrial output growing by 8 and 12 per cent in 2000, respectively. The author also states that a large budgetary surplus has helped ease potential inflationary pressures, that medium-term prospects continue to depend on structural reforms. The paper also provides a number of graphs and tables and charts on this subject. The paper also considers such subjects as: economic growth, monetary policy, fiscal policy and real GDP growth, imports and export balance.
