| Tiivistelmä: | The capacity planning of a natural gas pipeline in Sweden with uncertain demand is dealt with. The investment planning problem is formulated as a linear integer programming model that may be run on computer. Of the factors that influence the investment decision only the economic one is considered. Several cases are considered and the optimal choice of pipe capacity specification and expansion times for each case are presented. The problem of natural gas expansion is solved in a simplified way based on some assumptions. The postponement of the expansion plan depends on general cost considerations. |
