| Tiivistelmä: | At the OECD/World Bank Conference the participants revealed the causes of deterioration in economic performance and standards of living in central and eastern Europe. They discussed how well-functioning market economies can be created in these countries. They agreed that the West must support social and political stability, and should find ways to ease the large burdens of servicing the huge inherited debts. |
