CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Tiivistelmä:Many commentators and lawmakers increasingly seem to believe that business owes everything to everyone. There was a time when even the contention that businesses should contribute to local charities was viewed as controversial. Milton Friedman, for instance, long championed the position that such outlays, however well-intended , were essentially the theft of shareholders assets. In his view, the corporation was responsible to the shareholders and no one else. (Firms were, of course, bound to respect the rights of others, which warranted them from dumping wastes in other people's yards, for example.)
