| Tiivistelmä: | The job enrichment driven motor vehicle production techniques pioneered by Volvo and Saab in Sweden in the 1970's have been out of favour for some time now. But many of the Japanese concepts involved in the new 'lean production' ethos are also facing heavy criticism. The author of this article offers a middle way: a new synthesis of teamworking, flexibility, continuous improvement and 'ownership of change' leading to high efficiency and high quality of work and jobs. |
