Tiivistelmä:The authors answer the question what are the requirements of effective leadership in 'post- transformational' world. The author states that in 1999 alone were published over 2000 books on leadership and they were not all saying the same thing. This article explores how this quest to understand leadership has developed, together with the limitations on the authors' understanding to date. In exploring these developments, the possibilities for a better understanding of leadership in the context of change and its relationship to the rapidly emerging concept of Emotional Intelligence (El) are examined. An interesting potential framework for a new perspective on leadership is presented, based on research with groups of managers involved in leading change.
