| Tiivistelmä: | The paper states that the EU has not been unaffected by the growing global interest in the issues of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. During 2001, several initiatives came to a head in a way which suggests that this will be a major area of policy making and discussion in the years to come. To explore and analyse these developments in further detail, the authors will now consider, in turn, the issues of corporate governance and employee representation; employee consultation and the regulation of takeover bids; the implications for corporate restructuring of the Court's approach to governance issues in the light of Albany; and finally developments in the field of corporate social responsibility. |
