| Tiivistelmä: | After complete entry deregulation of network industries there is an increasing tendency towards detailed cost regulations. The major disadvantage of administrative costing rules is the lack of decision-based determination of user cost of capital. The current experience of regulated network industries in Great Britain is analyzed, pointing out the importance of the application of modern finance theory in liberalized network industries. Typically the most contentious element in this process, the cost of equity, is derived through application of the Capital Asset Pricing Model. There is, however, a controversial discussion of sector specific parameter values (original in German). |
