| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of the paper is to focus specifically in experimentation issues in optimalization. A number of key factors are examined that play role in any computational experiment. Complicating factors arising in computational experimentation are also discussed. These themes are illustrated via three case studies, - nonlinear optimalization on a microcomputer, stimulated annealing and testing a commercial vehicle routing code. These studies span a wide variety of experimentation issues and should appeal to the theoretician and practitioner alike. |
