The model considered can serve as a guide for managers contemplating the purchase or installation of advanced manufacturing technology /AMT/. The consequences that will follow directly from the decision to introduce new technology in the workplace,human resource policy considerations,such as broader jobs and work teams,training and selection practices seem to be aligned with technology and progressive management philosophies are discussed.
