| Tiivistelmä: | The most important behavioural characteristics of a systems-oriented manager are listed and examined. The role of strategic thinking, the correct problem identification, the circular or network-based analysis and reasoning is emphasized. A systems-oriented manager is prepared for dealing with complex situations and uncertainties. He effectively performs analysis and synthesis. He is able to understand the rise of order in social systems and rely upon the systems own dynamics. A systems-oriented manager can choose methods and models in accordance with the problems identified, and the level of management. He appreciates the flexibility, the developmental capacity of the system and he tries to learn the art of learning. |
