Tiivistelmä: | Order in social systems can be seen as a result of self-organization. The main characteristics of self-organizing systems: complexity, self-reference, redundancy, autonomy. Structure, behavior and order within social systems are products of historical development. Formation of order has two dimensions: the material and the symbolic ones. The pattern of order is shaped under the influence of different processes: adaptation, evolution and development. The notion of development is analysed in detail. It is supposed that the capacity for development of a social system depends mainly on the properties of social institutions. Systemic abilities to learn and to forget are pre-conditions of development. |
