| Tiivistelmä: | In India, the number of micro-computers at district level is small. Since large sums of money are being spent on rural development programmes, the potential benefits from using computers could be immense. In order to derive the maximum benefits from using computers in rural development, it is essential to supplement the existing strategy of introducing machines at the state and national capitals with micro-computers at the district headquarters. In addition to cost saving, the most important other benefits would be flexible retrieval and analysis of üetailed data, improved quality of data, model-based analysis and performance comparisons. |
