Tiivistelmä:Depletable energy sources become scarce and expensive. Consequently, they will eventually be replaced by alternative, nondepletable forms of energy. The timing and nature of this transition is difficult to foresee due to the pace of technological change, uncertainty over the amount of depletable energy fuels available, production costs, government policies and the choices of major producers. This transition is modeled by assuming the existence of a hypothetical source of energy available in an unlimited quantity at a constant cost. The standard model is a social planning model. The interaction between the two sectors is modeled. The numerical examples allow to compare the solutions.
