| Tiivistelmä: | Measures aiming at the reduction of costs are being considered overall - and especially with regard to overheads. Future-oriented cost optimization means combining the objective of a lasting cost reduction with an obvious improvement in the effectiveness of administrative functions. The field of information systems and data management is characterized. Some reasonable ways of resource utilization are described. Isolated cost saving programs are criticized. Cost reduction efforts should be concentrated on a few topics of crucial importance. A strategic approach to improving performance, accompanied by cost reduction, is offered. |
