Tiivistelmä:The JIT concept, which was developed by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan, primarily aims at reducing work in process inventory by a 'pull' phenomenon. This paper experimentally investigates for problems of practical sizes, the effect on sub-assembly usage smoothing when the product usage smoothing goal is considered together with the sub-assembly usage smoothing goal in the determination of the assembly line product sequence. The experimental procedure, evaluation procedure, and factorial analysis are explained and the results are discussed.
