| Tiivistelmä: | Mentoring has its roots in the Grecian Age, and is now seen as a highly appropriate management tool for the late twentieth century. It is a highly effective method of identifying and developing staff. It can also be seen as an effective door into middle and senior management. While often used as a development tool for "high flyers" there is no valid reason why mentoring, if adopted by companies, should not in principle be extended to all staff including members of the Board. As with any initiative involving members of staff there is a cost and resource implication which could potentially be high. |
