| Tiivistelmä: | This article analyzes the transitions of temporary (here as: temp.) workers to the standard employment contract and to unemployment. Adopting a comparative framework, analysed are four countries with different forms of market structuration. The countries included are France, West Germany, Denmark, and the United Kingdom (UK). Based on the European Community Household Panel survey (ECHP) from 1995 to 2001, temp. workers transitions are explored through event history analysis techniques. There are found higher rates of transition to permanent employment than to unemployment for most temp. workers, yet with strong between-country differences. |
