Tiivistelmä:In recent months the European Court of Justice (ECJ) and the Court of the First Instance (CFI) have: ruled out strong terms against a crude attempt by national legislation at "affirmative action" on gender in relation to access to employment, but instead on equal treatment in the context of public subsidies to the low-paid and on free medicines for the elderly; required the Commission to treat complaints of unlawful state aids or anti-competitive practices with due regard; ruled on the circumstances in which the Commission can be required to open a formal procedure for unlawful state aids.
