Tiivistelmä: | In this article the author discusses the Japanese-inspired manufacturing philosophy JIT (Just-In-Time) and warns companies of quick-fix syndrome. JIT in the author's opinion is more than a fad. JIT is a multifaceted process for continuous improvement comprising of Just- In-Time, Total Quality Control, Total Preventive Maintenance and Total People Involvement, aimed at the attainment of organizational excellence. Quick fix syndrome is a malaise best expressed as follows: Will JIT work if the top management does not provide leadership, commitment, planning, action, and follow-up? |
