| Tiivistelmä: | Experts agree that most companies need to do more careful succession planning. A well chosen leader can turn an ailing company around, and restore employee morale. The advent of outside successors has given rise to a new class of wheeler-dealer - the executive recruiter. Top recruiters currently play a role in crowning new chief executive officers at some of the largest corporations of the USA. However most firms still opt for choosing a CEO from within. He or she is a living proof that loyalty is rewarded. Therefore talented young executives may be more likely to stay with a firm. In addition, an inside successor knows the firm much better than an outsider. Insiders know the strengths and weaknesses of their subordinates, the corporate culture etc. |
