Tiivistelmä:Top-level managers in many of today's leading corporations are losing control of their companies. In recent years managers began to accept the need to manage complexity rather than seek to minimize it. The organizational solution to strategies requiring multiple, simultaneous management capabilities is the matrix structure. In practice, however, the matric proved all but unmanageable, especially in an international context. Three principal characteristics common to those that managed organizational problems most effectively are: clear and consistent corporate vision, effective management of human resource tools, integration of individual thinking and activities into the broad corporate agenda by co-option.
