| Tiivistelmä: | There is no easy answer to the question of whether Uzbekistan could have done better by pursuing more vigorous liberalization and reform policies from the beginning. In the model used in this paper, faster reform would have led to higher growth through the measured macroeconomic and structural policy variables, reflecting mainly the positive impact of reforms on the newly developing private sector. |
